Coffee Drinks
If you have ever been to a coffee shop, you know the drink menu is often overwhelming. As an owner or a part of a coffee shop, we should know it and can explain it when you offer your coffee to your customers. Most coffee drinks comprise three common ingredients such as espresso, steamed milk, and foam milk. It's will different from the ratio three of them.
Espresso
If you in Italy and order a coffee without say the name of the coffee you will get this. Approximately 1 oz of hight concentrated coffee
Ratio: 1 shot of espresso
Cup: 2-4 oz espresso cup or demitasse cup
Double Espresso
Double espresso also know as doppio, it's means double from Italy. This is highly concentrated and strong
Ratio: 2 shot of espresso
Cup: 3-4 oz espresso cup or Demitaze cup
Americano
This coffee popular for the breakfast, especially in Australia almost all Australian people drink this coffee every day.
Ratio: 1 shot espresso + 3-4 oz hot water
Cup: 5-6 oz glass coffee mug
Long Black
The long black is a similar coffee drink to americano. It generally has more crema and more strong than americano. It originated in New Zeland
Ratio: 2 short espresso + 3-4 oz hot water
Cup: 6-8 oz glass coffee mug
Macchiato
The word "macchiato" means mark or stain. This is in reference to the mark that foam milk leaves on the surface of the espresso as it is dashed into the drink.
Ratio: 1 shot espresso + 2 teaspoons of foam milk
Cup: 3 oz of an espresso cup
Long Macchiato
Often confused with a standard macchiato, long macchiato means more volume and stronger than
macchiato.
Ratio: 2 shot of espresso + 2 teaspoons of foam milk
Cup: 4 oz of an espresso cup
Cappucino
This creamy coffee drink is usually consumed at breakfast time in Italy and also in the United State as well. It is usually associated with delight comfort because of its thick foam layer and additional flavorings that can be added to it.
Ratio: 1-2 shot espresso + 2 oz of steam milk + 2 oz of foam milk (sprinkling with chocolate powder is optional)
Cup: 6-8 cappuccino mug or coffee mug
Flat White
A flat white also originates from New Zealand and Australia. Contain espresso and steamed milk only.
Ratio: 1 shot of espresso + 3-4 oz steamed milk
Cup: 5-6 oz coffee mug
Coffee Latte
From this coffee shop grows fastly, almost all people interested with the art on the top of the coffee. Flavoring also often added to the latte for those who enjoy the drink.
Ratio: 1-2 shot espresso + 3-4 steamed milk + 1cm foam milk.
Cup: 6-8 oz of a coffee mug
Mocha
The mocha is considered a coffee and hot chocolate mixture. it can be like cappuccino, latte, or flat white base of the barista or coffee shop owner.
Ratio: 1-2 shot of espresso + 1-2 of chocolate + 2-3 steam milk + foam or weap cream optional
Cup: 6-8 oz of coffee mug
